Job Description

The Santa Clara Marriott, located at 2700 Mission College Blvd in Santa Clara, California, is a distinguished establishment within the renowned Marriott International portfolio. Known for its commitment to excellence and creating memorable experiences, this hotel stands as a beacon of luxury, comfort, and hospitality in the region. With its diverse amenities and prime location, the Santa Clara Marriott not only serves as a vibrant hub for tourists and business travelers alike but also as an immersive workplace where employees can thrive and grow professionally. The hotel's association with Marriott International ensures adherence to globally recognized standards of service and workplace culture, promoting inclusivity, diversity, and continuous development among its staff.

This full-time position as a Bartender at the Santa Clara Marriott offers an exciting opportunity to join the Food and Beverage team and contribute to the hotel's reputation for exceptional guest experiences. The role, which pays $22.00 per hour plus tips, is non-management and requires flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, to meet the dynamic needs of the hospitality environment.

As a Bartender, you will do much more than just prepare drinks. Your success hinges on creating unique and memorable experiences for guests, blending mastery in beverage preparation with a deep understanding of evolving guest preferences and market trends. Your role transcends the bar area as you become the host who takes personal responsibility for the guest experience. You will wield your knowledge and dedication to perfect the bar’s appearance and functionality while fostering relationships within the hotel and the broader community. Passion for guest experience, attention to detail regarding cash handling, communication, and the quality of drinks served are fundamental aspects of this position.

In addition to the core duties of a bartender, you will uphold Marriott International's stringent policies and standards, including maintaining a safe working environment, respecting confidentiality, safeguarding company assets, and presenting a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. The role is physically demanding, requiring you to stand, walk, lift, and perform various movements to deliver exemplary service throughout your shift. Your commitment to excellence directly influences guest satisfaction and the success of the hotel.

The Santa Clara Marriott values education and experience, seeking candidates with at least a high school diploma or equivalent, complemented by relevant work experience—no supervisory experience is necessary. Marriott International prides itself on an inclusive hiring approach, promoting diversity and providing equal employment opportunities regardless of disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics under applicable law. The brand's philosophy centers on delivering outstanding hospitality while fostering a workplace where employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to be their best selves.

As part of the larger Marriott International family, the JW Marriott brand exemplifies luxury and exceptional service, with over 100 properties worldwide. The JW Marriott fosters a community where employees are encouraged to innovate, grow, and enjoy genuine camaraderie. Employees benefit from numerous training and recognition programs within a supportive environment emphasizing holistic well-being. Joining JW Marriott means joining a global team devoted to excellence in hospitality and employee satisfaction, truly embodying "The JW Treatment".
