The position available is for a full-time Barman at the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway, classified as a non-management role dedicated to enhancing the food and beverage experience of hotel guests. This role involves more than just preparing drinks; it requires an individual passionate about creating memorable and unique experiences for customers by staying abreast of current market trends and evolving guest preferences. The Barman acts as the host within the bar environment, taking personal responsibility for the guests' direct experience. This includes maintaining the bar's appearance and functionality to the highest standard and fostering positive relationships not only within the hotel team but also within the local community.
Success in this position depends on attention to detail, including managing cash accurately, providing informed recommendations, and taking pride in the quality of beverages served. The role demands a dynamic professional who embraces the spirit of hospitality and is committed to delivering excellence at every turn. Essential daily tasks include standing, sitting, walking extensively, as well as performing physical activities such as lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds without assistance, reaching, kneeling, bending, and stooping. The Barman must operate within Marriott’s policies and procedures, ensure a professional appearance at all times, and contribute to a safe and respectful workplace.
