Job Description

Marriott International is a globally recognized hospitality company known for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences, quality service, and a diverse and inclusive workplace culture. As a leader in the hotel industry, Marriott offers a variety of lodging options worldwide, ranging from luxury resorts and boutique hotels to business hotels and extended stay accommodations. Marriott's dedication to innovation, employee development, and community involvement sets it apart, making it a preferred employer and a respected name among travelers around the world.

This job opportunity is with the Westin brand, a part of Marriott International, which is specifically focused on wellness and providing guests with an environment that promotes health, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Westin hotels strive to empower their guests to regain control and enhance their well-being while traveling, helping them become the best versions of themselves. The brand’s unique approach to wellness is embedded in all aspects of their hospitality service, from the amenities offered to the engagement and support of their employees. Associates at Westin are encouraged to embrace their own well-being practices to authentically promote the brand’s mission.

The role being offered is for a Bartender, an essential position in delivering the signature Westin experience to guests. This position goes far beyond just mixing drinks; it involves creating a memorable and personalized experience for every guest. Bartenders are not merely beverage experts but also play a critical role as hosts within the hotel environment, fostering an atmosphere that is inviting, safe, and engaging. They continually stay informed on the latest beverage trends, micro-local offerings, and evolving guest preferences to ensure the bar remains a dynamic and exciting space.

Bartenders have full ownership of their work area, ensuring every detail from the cleanliness and functionality of the bar to the quality and presentation of drinks is flawless. This role also requires bartenders to build lasting relationships not only with guests but also with colleagues across the hotel and within the local community. They anticipate guest needs proactively and offer service that exceeds expectations. Being passionate about guest service while maintaining attention to detail—whether handling transactions or communicating important information—is critical to success in this role.

This position requires physical stamina as bartenders will be standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and performing tasks that include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Flexibility in movement such as bending, twisting, and stooping is also necessary. Beyond these physical requirements, success in this role depends on the ability to adhere to company policies, maintain confidentiality, protect assets, and present a professional appearance.

Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent and at least one year of related work experience. No supervisory experience or certifications are required. Marriott International is committed to equal opportunity employment and values the diverse backgrounds and experiences of their associates, fostering an inclusive workplace free from discrimination based on disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics.

At Westin, bartenders are part of a dedicated team that values passion, optimism, and adventure. They work in an environment that encourages personal well-being and professional growth, providing an opportunity to belong to a global team and contribute meaningfully to the brand’s wellness mission. This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in their personal health, are enthusiastic about guest service, and are eager to thrive in a dynamic hospitality setting.
