We are currently seeking dedicated Lifeguards to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and positive experiences of all members using our aquatic facilities. This position requires alert, responsible individuals who are passionate about water safety and community service. Working as a Lifeguard at the YMCA means more than just monitoring pools; it involves building meaningful relationships with members, responding effectively to emergencies, and helping maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facility. Shifts are available across various days and hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends to accommodate different schedules. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 15 years old
- Strong swimming skills and physical stamina
- Certification in American Red Cross Lifeguarding or willingness to obtain certification
- Ability to maintain constant vigilance and alertness
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Ability to respond to emergencies
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Physical ability to lift and move pool equipment
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 15 years old
- Strong swimming abilities and physical stamina
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or pass the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification class provided by the YMCA
- Excellent attention to detail and alertness
- Great communication and customer service skills
- Professional attitude and teamwork
Job Duties
- Ensure the safety of all pool users through constant, vigilant surveillance
- Build positive relationships with members and create a welcoming environment
- Respond to emergencies quickly and professionally
- Maintain pool and facility cleanliness
- Assist with swim programs and special events
- Help maintain our high standards for water quality and safety
