Job Description
SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is a renowned operator of marine-life based theme parks and water parks across the United States, committed to delivering fun, educational, and safe experiences for millions of guests every year. Among its many attractions, the water parks provide thrilling aquatic entertainment, combining state-of-the-art facilities with exceptional guest services to ensure memorable visits for families and individuals alike. SeaWorld is recognized not only for its immersive attractions but also for its strong emphasis on safety and guest care, creating an environment where guests can relax and fully enjoy their day at the park.
Joining the SeaWorld family as a Lifeguard or Aquatic Attraction Guard offers an exciting and unique career opportunity where you play a vital role in guest safety and satisfaction at the water park. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about safety, enjoy working in a dynamic environment, and are eager to be part of a team that prioritizes excellent service. The role includes comprehensive training, provided and paid for by SeaWorld, including certification through the American Red Cross. Starting with a swim test prerequisite, new hires will gain valuable skills in CPR, AED, first aid, and aquatic safety to ensure they are well-prepared to handle emergencies and maintain a secure environment throughout the park's waterways.
As an Aquatic Attraction Guard or Lifeguard, your responsibilities extend beyond monitoring swimming areas and rescuing guests in distress. You will engage actively with visitors by greeting them, answering questions, and offering assistance to resolve any concerns they may have during their visit. The role demands vigilance and proactive prevention, including warning guests about potential hazards and ensuring all park safety guidelines are strictly followed. You will participate in regular in-service training sessions and safety audits to maintain the highest standard of readiness and knowledge. Additionally, maintaining the cleanliness of your designated area is essential to uphold the park’s standards for both safety and guest experience.
The position offers competitive pay, with the Aquatic Attraction Guard role compensated at $15.25 per hour including incentives, and Lifeguards earning $16.50 per hour also with incentive pay. Incentives apply when working 16 hours or more per pay week and are guaranteed through June 3rd, 2026. This compensation reflects SeaWorld's investment in attracting dedicated professionals who are committed to creating a secure and enjoyable environment for all guests.
To succeed in this role, candidates must be at least 18 years old and demonstrate strong swimming skills by passing a prerequisite swim test. Successful candidates must also complete and pass American Red Cross CPR/AED training and achieve certification as either an Aquatic Attraction Attendant for shallow water areas or Deep Water Lifeguard. Maintaining certification requires ongoing swim tests and safety audits to ensure continuous competence. The job requires comfort in and around water, including at heights such as high tower slides, and the resilience to work in varying weather conditions ranging from heat and humidity to wind and other outdoor environmental factors. Stamina is essential, as you will be standing or walking for extended periods. Flexibility in scheduling is crucial, with shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Working at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment offers more than just a paycheck; it provides access to a lively and collaborative work environment, excellent team camaraderie, and unique perks. Employees enjoy free admission to the park along with discounts on admission tickets and passes for their family and friends. Additionally, employees benefit from discounts on food and merchandise within the park, scholarship opportunities, and exclusive access to special events and giveaways. This role is ideal for those who want to make a difference in guest experiences while advancing their skills and career in a fun, fast-paced setting.
SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, welcoming applicants without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, pregnancy, gender identity or expression, disability, or veteran status. We encourage all qualified individuals who share our dedication to safety, guest satisfaction, and professional excellence to apply and join a team dedicated to making waves in hospitality and entertainment industry.
