The role of the Life Enrichment Team Member - Memory Care is a dynamic, full-time position requiring an enthusiastic and energetic individual who can lead meaningful engagement programs for residents experiencing memory loss. This is not a desk job; it requires someone who loves people and is prepared to be active throughout the day, bringing creativity and innovation to the task of designing and executing daily, weekly, and monthly activity programs. The Life Enrichment Team Member plays a crucial role in transforming the lives of residents by cultivating a vibrant and purposeful environment where each individual feels valued, connected, and successful. Candidates should have experience or education in fields related to activities, life enrichment, dementia care, education, event planning, senior living, or hospitality, with a preference for those holding Certified Activities Director certification. This role requires working rotating weekends as the Memory Care programming operates seven days a week, thus offering a consistent schedule and a sense of rhythm for team members. Job Qualifications
- Experience in activities, life enrichment, recreation, dementia care, assisted living, memory care, senior living, education, child development, event planning, hospitality, or related fields preferred
- Certified Activities Director certification preferred but not required
- Knowledge of dementia care and person-centered engagement preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license preferred
Job Duties
- Plan and execute engaging daily, weekly, and monthly activity programs
- Create meaningful experiences tailored to residents living with dementia
- Develop themed events, parties, outings, celebrations, and special programs
- Think outside the box to create unique and innovative engagement opportunities
- Lead activities with enthusiasm and energy rather than simply supervise them
- Build relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and community partners
- Incorporate music, movement, sensory experiences, art, games, cooking, gardening, reminiscence, and life skills programming
- Ensure activity calendars, supplies, decorations, and materials are prepared in advance
- Maintain participation records and required documentation
- Collaborate closely with nursing, caregiving, dining, therapy, and leadership teams
- Help create a positive culture where residents are encouraged to participate and feel included
- Utilize technology, social media, photography, and digital tools to enhance programming and family communication
