Job Description
The Towne House is a well-established senior living community dedicated to providing vibrant lifestyles with comprehensive care and long-term security for its residents. As part of BHI Senior Living, a respected non-profit organization with over 50 years of experience, The Towne House operates under faith-based values that prioritize excellence, compassion, and innovation. With ten Life Plan Communities and two Active Adult Communities across Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio, BHI Senior Living is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of older adults while supporting its staff in their professional growth and development.
At The Towne House, team members work in a 5-star community environment where the mission is clear: to lead with compassion and deliver exceptional care for seniors. The organization fosters a supportive and knowledgeable team culture that values continuous learning and growth. Employees benefit from generous programs such as student loan repayment and tuition assistance, paid time off from day one, paid holidays, and robust health and retirement benefits. Onsite amenities include a fitness center, salon, massage therapy, medical clinic, and café/dining facilities, enhancing the overall quality of life for both residents and staff. Additionally, employees receive employer-paid life insurance and 24/7 access to employer assistance programs, ensuring support is always available.
The current role focuses on creating engaging and diverse programming tailored to residents' unique interests and abilities, thereby enriching their quality of life. The ideal candidate will develop creative calendars of events, activities, and outings that foster meaningful social connections and promote active lifestyles. Collaboration with community organizations, volunteers, and families plays a key role in enhancing the offerings provided. The Activity Director will lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music, fitness, games, and educational sessions while ensuring these programs are inclusive, enjoyable, and meet the residents' preferences and needs. This position is not only about event planning—but about positively impacting residents' day-to-day lives by encouraging participation and fostering a vibrant community spirit.
Those attracted to this role are compassionate, energetic, and creative leaders who bring a background in senior living, recreation, or event planning. Strong communication and organizational skills, along with the ability to engage residents across varying cognitive and physical abilities, are essential for success. The Towne House embraces diversity and provides equal employment opportunities, welcoming all qualified candidates regardless of background or personal characteristics. Working at The Towne House means joining a community committed to professional growth, compassionate care, and creating meaningful experiences for seniors, making it a rewarding career choice for those passionate about enhancing the lives of older adults.
