Job Description
Presbyterian Homes & Services (PHS) is a respected nonprofit, faith-based organization headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota, that specializes in providing high-quality housing, care, and service options for older adults. Founded in 1955, PHS has grown to become one of the largest nonprofit senior living providers in the nation. The organization serves over 41,800 older adults through 60 senior living communities across Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin, as well as through Optage® home and community services. PHS is committed to fostering independence, purposeful living, and overall well-being among seniors. Furthermore, PHS co-owns Genevive, the largest geriatric primary care practice in Minnesota, which delivers comprehensive care to more than 15,500 older adults. The organization is widely recognized as a leader in senior care innovation and emphasizes community, compassion, and respect in its operations. Harbor Crossing, a senior living community located in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, is a cherished part of the PHS network. This community is designed to offer homestyle living complemented by scenic natural views, and it conveniently situates residents near stores and highways for easy access by family and visitors. Harbor Crossing includes independent living, assisted living, and memory care apartment homes, providing a continuum of care tailored to the needs of older adults. It is a place where seniors experience safety, support, companionship, and many meaningful opportunities for social engagement and personal growth. The Life Enrichment Coordinator at Harbor Crossing plays a vital role in enriching the daily lives of residents by planning, implementing, and monitoring life enhancement and enrichment programs. Reporting to the Life Enrichment Director, this position is responsible for supporting residents’ well-being and satisfaction by promoting Liberty — a core philosophy that encompasses physical, emotional, and social freedom and choice. The coordinator works closely with interdisciplinary teams, residents, families, and staff to establish and execute individualized care plans that align with resident preferences and collective community goals. The role involves creating diverse activities and opportunities, including exercise, social interaction, educational pursuits, recreational outings, and spontaneous moments of joy to foster vibrant, thriving living environments. Life Enrichment Coordinators also facilitate daily Chat Circles to encourage open communication and resident participation, assist with individual and group activities, plan special events, and provide personalized one-on-one interaction according to residents’ needs and interests. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required, reflecting the dynamic nature of resident programming. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by ensuring residents remain engaged, connected, and fulfilled throughout their senior living experience. Harbor Crossing employees enjoy various amenities, including off-street parking and discounted employee meals. The community supports multiple care options such as assisted living with memory care and independent living, offering residents comprehensive support while encouraging autonomy. PHS emphasizes a supportive work culture, offering opportunities for career movement and growth within a mission-driven organization that values service, integrity, and compassion. The position’s pay range is estimated between $19.75 and $22.64 per hour, with full-time (30+ hours per week) and part-time (20-29 hours) benefits available, including health and dental insurance, retirement plans with matching, life insurance, paid time off, and educational assistance programs. This comprehensive role is ideal for someone with a passion for serving older adults, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to enriching lives in a collaborative and respectful environment focused on dignity and empowerment.
