Job Description
Carillon is West Texas's premier senior living community, providing an exceptional environment for over four hundred residents across independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing facilities. Renowned for its commitment to the highest standards of care and hospitality, Carillon offers a vibrant and supportive atmosphere for both residents and employees alike. The community is dedicated to fostering a culture where residents feel valued, engaged, and connected to a full range of services and social activities that address their diverse needs. With a highly collaborative staff and a dedication to continuous improvement, Carillon remains a leader in senior care by combining compassionate service with innovative programs.
We are currently seeking a part-time Life Enrichment Coordinator for our Memory Care 'I'm Still Here' (ISH) program within the Health Center department, reporting to the Memory Care Program Director. This position offers an hourly wage of $13 to $14, designed primarily as a weekend role (Saturday and Sunday) to provide essential support to residents affected by memory impairments such as dementia. The Life Enrichment Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for memory care residents by assisting with personal care and facilitating engaging recreational and social activities. This role involves the design and implementation of meaningful, purpose-driven programs intended to foster engagement, social connection, and a strong sense of belonging for residents.
Key responsibilities include supporting the Memory Care Program Director in delivering care and program activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents, planning the monthly activity calendar that balances social, psychosocial, physical, spiritual, and emotional activities, and training CNAs to assist in activity facilitation. The coordinator will also lead programming during activities of daily living support by CNAs and collaborate with nursing and care teams to ensure a variety of activities are available throughout the day. Additionally, they arrange transportation for outings, maintain a clean and orderly resident living environment, and ensure that activities are well documented in both program and medical records.
Carillon embraces a culture of hospitality, with a commitment to warm greetings, respectful treatment, responsive service, accountability, professionalism, and inclusivity. Employees are encouraged to listen attentively to residents and co-workers, anticipate needs, and contribute to an environment where everyone feels important and valued. The Life Enrichment Coordinator must demonstrate strong communication skills, organizational ability, empathy for elderly adults with dementia, and a customer-service attitude toward residents and families.
This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience in elder care, with a preference for memory care experience. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, plan and facilitate a variety of enriching activities, and manage the physical demands of the position is essential. The position also requires compliance with Carillon's policies, including HIPAA and OSHA standards related to exposure to blood and bodily fluids. Physical duties include sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and occasionally handling infectious materials with proper safety measures.
Joining Carillon means becoming part of a premier senior living community that values collaboration, quality care, and employee development. Full-time employees benefit from comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, accident, and hospitalization insurance, as well as a robust retirement savings plan. Though this position is part-time, it offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the lives of seniors while working within a supportive and professional team focused on wellness and dignity for all residents.
