The Community Life Assistant role at Christian Living Communities plays a crucial part in supporting the life enrichment programs tailored to the interests and needs of Independent Living residents. This position is full-time with a consistent schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend commitments including driving excursions. The Community Life Assistant facilitates a variety of activities designed to promote social, mental, physical, spiritual, and creative well-being among residents, enhancing their quality of life and fostering community engagement.

In this dynamic role, the Community Life Assistant will work closely with residents, vendors, entertainers, volunteers, and fellow team members to coordinate special events, programs, and small group activities centered on resident interests. Responsibilities include administrative support, scheduling, reporting, and maintaining communication to ensure smooth operations. The role requires driving residents on scenic rides and community outings, making a positive difference in resident engagement and satisfaction.

This position is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy multi-tasking, and possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills. The Community Life Assistant is expected to contribute creatively by assisting in the development and evaluation of the monthly life enrichment calendar and ensuring program supplies and equipment are adequately stocked. They also serve as a supporting leader by assisting the Director with timecard administration, care conferences, budget compliance, and fulfilling the Director's role in their absence if designated.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or ged
  • 1-2 years experience in recreational programming
  • colorado drivers license in good standing
  • must be able to read, write and speak the english language
  • must possess excellent customer service skills
  • moderate physical effort required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
  • sits, stands, bends and moves intermittently during working hours
  • is subject to frequent interruptions
  • interacts with residents, family members, visitors frequently

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • assist in writing, designing, distributing, and evaluating the monthly life enrichment calendar
  • inventory, purchase, and stock supplies and equipment as needed
  • drive the community bus for scenic rides and large or small group outings
  • observe and communicate resident needs, interests, and responses to programs and activities with appropriate staff
  • compile data for reporting purposes and perform various clerical and administrative tasks
  • serve on committees as assigned
  • provide support to the Director with functions such as timecard administration, care conferences, and budget compliance
  • serve as Director in the Director's absence when designated
  • perform other duties as assigned
