Job Description
Well-Spring, A Life Plan Community, is a distinguished assisted living facility dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults through compassionate care and engaging programming. Located in North Carolina, Well-Spring is a full-service community that not only provides residents with a comfortable living environment but also emphasizes wellness, social connection, and quality of life. The community focuses on creating an atmosphere where residents feel respected, supported, and actively involved in meaningful activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being. At Well-Spring, teamwork, respect, and the building of lasting relationships among residents, families, and staff are fundamental values that drive the community’s mission. The team is passionate about creating positive experiences that enrich the daily lives of their residents, making it a place where older adults and their families feel truly cared for and valued.
The Life Engagement Coordinator role at Well-Spring is a full-time position primarily scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the understanding that some evenings and weekends are required to support special events and resident programming, underscoring the need for flexibility. This position is ideally suited for a compassionate, energetic, and creative individual who is enthusiastic about crafting and leading engaging activities tailored to the unique interests and abilities of up to 60 assisted living residents. The Life Engagement Coordinator is responsible for planning and facilitating both group and one-on-one activities that promote active participation and social engagement among residents. In this role, the coordinator not only encourages participation but also fosters meaningful relationships with residents and their families, thereby enhancing the overall living experience within the community.
A critical aspect of the job is developing monthly activity calendars that outline diverse offerings and coordinating special events that bring excitement and variety to residents' daily routines. Documentation of resident participation and progress is another essential duty, requiring the use of electronic medical records to ensure accurate and up-to-date tracking of engagement and outcomes. The Life Engagement Coordinator also assists residents who prefer or require in-room activities, transports residents safely to outings and activities, and ensures that program spaces and activity supplies are well-maintained. Supervising volunteers during activities and managing the distribution of resident mail are additional responsibilities that contribute to the smooth operation of the resident engagement program.
This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills as well as basic computer proficiency to manage schedules, record keeping, and coordination tasks effectively. A valid North Carolina driver’s license with a safe driving record is necessary for transporting residents. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, pushing wheelchairs, lifting supplies, and occasional climbing to decorate spaces for events. The role also requires completion of CPR and emergency response training to ensure a safe environment. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of older adults by promoting a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive community atmosphere.
