As a Tax Expert at a TurboTax Store, you will play an integral role in not only preparing tax returns but also acting as a proactive community ambassador. Your entrepreneurial spirit and tax expertise will be essential in growing TurboTax’s client base through community outreach, local events, and digital engagement. You will help demystify tax issues, providing clear, personalized advice and solutions that empower customers to optimize their tax outcomes, save money, and plan for future financial goals. Working on-site, you will utilize TurboTax tools and resources to manage a variety of tax situations—from simple individual returns to complex filings involving business income, deductions, and amendments. Your ability to foster a best-in-class customer experience is critical to converting first-time clients into loyal, repeat customers who trust TurboTax as their go-to financial partner.

In this role, you will work closely with customers, using in-person interactions and advanced video communication technologies to deliver accessible and accurate tax guidance. This position requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week at a TurboTax retail or flagship location, with flexibility during peak tax seasons. Your role will also encompass creating and sharing tax-related content and participating in marketing efforts designed to strengthen TurboTax’s presence in local communities. Bilingual candidates, especially those proficient in English and Spanish, are highly valued due to the importance of reaching diverse populations.

The ideal candidate will hold active credentials such as EA, CPA, or be a practicing attorney with robust tax preparation experience and a deep understanding of tax laws, including Circular 230 compliance. Maintaining a Preparer Tax Identification Number and any necessary state licenses is required, and candidates should be comfortable working in a retail environment while wearing the TurboTax uniform.
