Job Description
Headway is a leading mental health technology company dedicated to transforming the way mental health providers offer care. By simplifying insurance processes and administrative burdens, Headway empowers licensed psychiatric nurse practitioners to grow their private practice flexibly and profitably. Operating through a free-to-use platform, the company facilitates hassle-free insurance credentialing, real-time scheduling, secure client communication, and access to continuing education. Headway is committed to supporting independent providers by giving them the tools and resources necessary to focus on patient care rather than administrative challenges. Its services extend nationwide, offering credentialing across multiple states within as little as 30 days. This enables psychiatric nurse practitioners to serve a broader client base while maintaining autonomy over their practice.
The Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner role at Headway is an opportunity for fully licensed and board-certified practitioners to build or expand their private practice with unparalleled freedom and support. This is a 1099 independent contractor position that allows providers to set their own schedules, manage caseloads, and choose their work environment, all while benefiting from a platform that simplifies insurance acceptance and improves earnings. With compensation up to $197 per hour, this role combines financial reward with professional flexibility, suited for those who want to see patients alongside other commitments or grow a full-time practice without the overhead typically associated with private practice management.
Providers joining Headway benefit from predictable bi-weekly payments, competitive insurance rates, built-in electronic health record (EHR) tools including documentation templates and assessments, compliance and audit assistance, and free continuing education through Headway Academy. The platform’s focus on client experience ensures patients can easily verify insurance, access care affordably, and interact seamlessly with their providers. Importantly, Headway handles credentialing, billing, and administrative paperwork, enabling nurse practitioners to concentrate on delivering high-quality, life-changing care. This role is designed for those who meet licensure qualifications including a DEA or CDS number, board certification from ANCC or AANP, a valid NPI number, and malpractice insurance. This position is open to practitioners fully licensed in their respective states and interested in growing a flexible, insurance-accepted practice with national reach.
