Job Description
Headway is a leading mental health platform dedicated to helping licensed professional counselors enhance their private practices by simplifying the process of accepting insurance. Headway’s mission is to connect mental health providers with clients who rely on insurance coverage to access care, thereby making expert counseling services more reachable and affordable for those in need. The company supports over 50,000 providers nationwide, enabling them to grow their practices while serving a broader range of clients through insurance. As a tech-forward platform, Headway offers a comprehensive suite of tools including credentialing, compliance support, billing, electronic health records management, and continuing education resources all designed to empower counselors to focus more on client care and less on administrative burdens.
The role of Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) at Headway is ideal for mental health professionals ready to either launch a private practice or expand their existing business by accepting insurance patients. This position offers a competitive pay rate of up to $121 per hour and provides access to a wide insurance network, including popular plans such as Medicare Advantage and Medicaid. By joining Headway, counselors gain the ability to get credentialed in multiple states quickly and for free, enabling them to start seeing insurance-covered clients in as little as 30 days. The platform also ensures built-in compliance support with audit assistance and ongoing resources so providers can practice confidently and meet regulatory requirements with ease.
In this role, you will benefit from dependable, bi-weekly payments that bring financial stability to your practice. Additionally, Headway’s built-in electronic health record (EHR) features offer real-time scheduling, secure client messaging, and seamless documentation templates to streamline day-to-day operations. Counselors have access to free continuing education courses through Headway Academy, helping to support their professional development and maintain licensure requirements. The position requires licensure at the Master’s level or above with designations such as LPC, LPCC, LCPC, LCPCS, or LPCC-S, along with an active NPI number and malpractice insurance, ensuring high standards of care and accountability.
Headway’s innovative model empowers providers to reach more clients who otherwise might forego mental health care due to cost barriers. By joining this platform, you will be part of a community that values accessibility, professional growth, and quality care. This role offers flexibility, a supportive technological environment, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals seeking mental health services. Eligible counselors are encouraged to apply and take advantage of Headway’s free, no-obligation platform designed to help you succeed financially and professionally as you navigate the complexities of insurance-based private practice.
