Job Description
Headway is a leading platform dedicated to supporting licensed mental health providers in expanding and managing their private practices more effectively. As a facilitator between counselors and insurance networks, Headway allows mental health professionals to accept insurance payments, helping them reach a broader client base while ensuring stable and timely compensation. The company operates as a comprehensive, user-friendly service, providing assistance with insurance credentialing, compliance, practice management, and ongoing professional development resources. With over 50,000 providers benefiting from its platform, Headway is recognized for transforming how mental health providers deliver care, emphasizing accessibility and affordability for clients across various insurance plans, including Medicare Advantage and Medicaid.
The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) role with Headway offers a unique opportunity for licensed counselors to either launch or expand their private practice by integrating insurance services through a seamless process. This position is ideal for professionals holding relevant licenses such as LPC, LPCC, LCPC, LCPCS, or LPCC-S, along with a valid NPI number and malpractice insurance. Headway streamlines the traditionally complicated insurance credentialing process, enabling counselors to start seeing covered clients in as little as 30 days without the administrative burden of handling insurance logistics independently.
Counselors joining Headway’s network benefit from multiple support systems designed to optimize their practice workflows. These include built-in compliance features with audit support, a nationwide insurance network that offers higher reimbursement rates, and dependable bi-weekly payments to ensure consistent income flow. Additionally, the integrated electronic health record (EHR) tools offer functionalities such as real-time scheduling, secure client messaging, end-to-end documentation templates, and built-in assessments, all accessible within one platform. To support professional growth, Headway also provides free continuing education opportunities through Headway Academy, helping counselors earn continuing education units (CEUs) to maintain licensure and enhance their clinical skills.
From the client’s perspective, Headway enhances access to care by making it more affordable via insurance coverage and simplifying insurance verification, allowing clients to focus on their therapeutic needs without administrative disruptions. While Headway currently supports only fully licensed mental health professionals, counselors who meet the licensure criteria can leverage this platform to increase their practice’s reach and impact efficiently.
The role offers competitive compensation of up to $112 per hour, reflecting the value placed on licensed professionals’ expertise and commitment. Employment through Headway supports mental health counselors whose mission is to provide accessible care through insurance, thereby lowering barriers for individuals seeking mental health services. This position is ideally suited for dedicated licensed counselors ready to grow their practice with the assured support of a trusted platform committed to both professional and client success.
