Job Description
Headway is a leading platform dedicated to transforming the landscape of mental health care by making insurance-based therapy more accessible and seamless for both providers and clients. The company operates as a comprehensive network that supports licensed mental health professionals in starting or expanding their private practices with ease, all through a free-to-use platform that requires no commitment. By bridging the gap between providers and insurance companies, Headway empowers therapists to reach more clients while ensuring that those seeking mental health services can receive care at an affordable cost, alleviating financial barriers often associated with mental health treatment.
Headway primarily caters to Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) who are ready to either launch their private practice or grow an existing one by accepting insurance. The platform offers a supportive ecosystem where counselors can get credentialed for multiple states quickly, often within 30 days, allowing them to see covered clients as soon as possible. This dramatically improves accessibility for clients who rely on insurance such as Medicare Advantage and Medicaid, making mental health support more inclusive. With Headway’s credentialing services, mental health practitioners can focus on what matters most—providing quality care—without getting bogged down by administrative burdens.
As part of their commitment to providers, Headway incorporates built-in compliance features that help counselors stay audit-ready with continuous support and access to resources. Their extensive insurance network enables counselors to secure higher rates, increase their earnings, and attain dependable, predictable bi-weekly payments that provide financial stability. Headway also offers integrated practice management through real-time scheduling, secure client messaging, documentation templates, and built-in assessments, all within a single electronic health records (EHR) system. This integration streamlines workflows, reduces paperwork, and enhances client care outcomes. Additionally, Headway supports the long-term professional development of counselors by providing free continuing education courses through Headway Academy, allowing practitioners to earn CEUs and grow their expertise.
The role of Licensed Professional Counselor at Headway is designed for mental health professionals holding a Master's degree or above, with LPC, LPCC, LCPC, LCPCS, or LPCC-S licensure valid on a state-by-state basis. Candidates must possess a valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) number and malpractice insurance to participate. The position offers competitive pay up to $112 per hour, reflective of the advanced expertise and the crucial role these counselors play in supporting mental health within communities.
This opportunity is ideal for counselors who are passionate about expanding access to mental health care through insurance acceptance, who want to reduce administrative stress, and who seek to build a sustainable and scalable private practice. By partnering with Headway, counselors not only enhance their visibility and reach but also improve client outcomes by providing insurance-accepted, accessible care. Overall, this role represents a significant step for mental health professionals seeking growth, financial stability, and a networked platform tailored to their professional needs.
