Job Description
Headway is a pioneering healthcare platform dedicated to transforming the way licensed mental health professionals operate their private practices. Specializing in licensed professional counselors (LPCs), Headway provides an innovative, free-to-use platform that enables counselors to start accepting insurance easily, thereby broadening access to mental health care for more clients. Headway supports more than 50,000 providers across the United States, helping them grow their practices through streamlined insurance integration and increased earning potential. The platform simplifies traditionally complex processes such as insurance credentialing, billing, and compliance management, allowing counselors to focus on delivering quality care rather than administrative burdens.
This role as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is ideal for counselors ready to launch or expand their private practice by incorporating insurance-based clients. The position is designed for counselors who hold a valid state-level LPC or equivalent licensure (such as LPCC, LCPC, LCPCS, or LPCC-S) along with a National Provider Identifier (NPI) and malpractice insurance. Headway facilitates credentialing providers in multiple states, often within 30 days, which accelerates the timeline for seeing covered clients. By joining the Headway platform, counselors can increase their earning potential with higher reimbursement rates from a broad network of insurance plans, including Medicare Advantage and Medicaid. The position offers the flexibility of remote work with a competitive wage of up to $108 per hour.
Counselors working with Headway benefit from extensive compliance support, ongoing audit assistance, and resources to maintain regulatory standards from day one. The platform offers dependable, bi-weekly payments, providing financial stability and predictable income. Essential practice management tools come built into the platform, including an electronic health record (EHR) system with real-time scheduling, secure client messaging, end-to-end documentation templates, and integrated assessments to improve efficiency. In addition, Headway offers complimentary continuing education courses through Headway Academy, allowing counselors to earn CEUs and pursue their professional development goals.
Headway also prioritizes client access and convenience. By making insurance acceptance easier, clients gain increased access to care at affordable rates. Instant insurance verification technology ensures clients can confirm their coverage status swiftly, minimizing barriers to receiving timely mental health services. This model removes financial obstacles for clients who might otherwise forgo care or pay out-of-pocket, aligning Headway’s mission with improving mental health outcomes at a systemic level.
Note that Headway requires all mental health professionals to be fully licensed to join the platform. Candidates without complete licensure will need to obtain their license before applying. Overall, this LPC role with Headway is an outstanding opportunity for licensed counselors who wish to take their private practices to the next level by leveraging a comprehensive insurance platform designed to expand client base, increase revenue, and reduce administrative strain.
