Job Description
Headway is a dynamic healthcare technology company dedicated to transforming the mental health landscape by enabling licensed therapists to seamlessly accept insurance payments. The company operates as an innovative platform that supports mental health professionals in launching or expanding their private practices with an emphasis on accessibility and ease of insurance integration. Headway offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to simplify the often complex process of becoming in-network with insurance providers, thereby opening doors for providers to reach more clients and maximize earnings. This approach helps alleviate the financial barriers for patients seeking mental health services, making care more affordable and widely accessible.
Headway is not just a platform but a partner in professional growth for Mental Health Therapists at the Master's level or above, including those with a variety of licensure such as LMHC, LPCMH, LIMHP, LMFT, and others recognized state by state. With a commitment to supporting over 50,000 providers nationwide, Headway focuses on delivering value through tools like expedited credentialing, compliance support, access to broad insurance networks including Medicare Advantage and Medicaid, and built-in Electronic Health Record (EHR) features. Provider compensation is competitive, with the opportunity to earn up to $120 per hour, supported by dependable bi-weekly payments ensuring financial stability.
The Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMHT) role at Headway is tailored for therapists ready to launch a private practice or expand an existing one by integrating insurance services. This position is ideal for therapists who want to focus on their clinical expertise while leveraging technology and network benefits to grow their business. Headway serves as a vital conduit for therapists, offering services such as free credentialing across multiple states within about 30 days, audit support for compliance, and ongoing resources to maintain professional standards. Furthermore, the platform enhances practice management through real-time scheduling, secure client messaging, and a variety of documentation templates and assessment tools. Therapists also benefit from access to continuing education through Headway Academy, which offers free courses and professional development credits.
By joining Headway, therapists become part of a mission-driven community that prioritizes removing barriers to mental health care. The organization's infrastructure ensures therapists can accept insurance seamlessly while clients receive timely and affordable access to necessary services. Therapists with a valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) and malpractice insurance are supported in navigating the business complexities of insurance-based practices, enabling them to concentrate on delivering effective therapeutic care. This role emphasizes not only clinical excellence but also the empowerment of therapists through technology, compliance assistance, and financial benefits. Headway’s supportive environment is geared towards improving patient access and outcomes by equipping therapists with the tools and networks needed for sustainable private practice success.
