Job Description

Headway is a leading platform dedicated to transforming the mental health care landscape by facilitating easier access to insurance-supported services for licensed mental health professionals. As a forward-thinking company, Headway focuses on empowering mental health counselors, therapists, and clinicians to expand or launch their private practices by connecting them with a nationwide insurance network. Serving tens of thousands of providers, Headway is committed to simplifying the often complex and time-consuming process of insurance credentialing and compliance, allowing mental health professionals to focus on what matters most — their clients.

Headway operates as a robust technology-driven platform, offering a user-friendly, comprehensive solution tailored specifically for licensed mental health counselors (LMHCs) and related professionals. By providing free credentialing services across multiple states, seamless access to top insurance plans including Medicare Advantage and Medicaid, and dependable bi-weekly payments, Headway sets itself apart as a trusted partner in private practice growth. The platform also integrates essential practice management tools such as scheduling, secure client messaging, documentation templates, and built-in assessments, all designed to streamline the administrative tasks clinicians face. Additionally, Headway supports ongoing professional development by offering free continuing education via the Headway Academy, enabling providers to obtain necessary CEUs conveniently.

The role of a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) within the Headway network is focused on delivering high-quality mental health care to clients who might otherwise face significant barriers to access due to cost or insurance complexities. Candidates for this position will typically hold a master's degree or higher in a relevant field and possess full licensure (LMHC, LPCMH, or LIMHP), including a valid NPI number and malpractice insurance. Working with Headway, mental health counselors have the opportunity to expand their private practice by taking insurance for the first time or growing their existing panel of insured clients. This role is ideal for counselors seeking to increase their earnings with competitive rates and who want to reach a broader client base through insurance acceptance.

Headway’s support system ensures providers can onboard efficiently and remain compliant with ongoing resources and audit assistance. Providers benefit from an extensive insurance coverage network, predictable payments, and a secure, integrated platform that facilitates efficient practice management. The company’s mission aligns with making mental health services more affordable and accessible, thereby positively impacting countless lives. With a wage offer of up to $121.74/hour, this employment opportunity presents a compelling option for mental health counselors looking to broaden their impact and secure financial stability through insurance-based private practice management.
