Job Description
Headway is a pioneering platform committed to transforming the mental health landscape by bridging the gap between licensed mental health counselors and clients who need accessible, affordable care. This innovative company specializes in empowering mental health professionals to accept insurance seamlessly, whether they are launching or expanding their private practice. By streamlining the often complicated credentialing and insurance acceptance process, Headway allows therapists and counselors to focus on what they do best—providing quality care and improving patient outcomes. Founded with the vision of making mental health care accessible and affordable, Headway has supported over 50,000 providers in growing their practices and reaching a broader client base. Through a free-to-use platform with no commitment required, Headway helps licensed providers get credentialed quickly, manage insurance plans efficiently, and increase their earnings with competitive rates.
The role of a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) at Headway is designed for motivated professionals holding licensure at the Master’s level or above, including LMHC, LPCMH, or LIMHP credentials. Candidates must have a valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) number and malpractice insurance, highlighting their readiness to practice within regulatory standards. This position is ideal for counselors who are either ready to launch their private practice or looking to scale their existing practice by accepting insurance with ease. Working with Headway means joining a network that supports your success by providing extensive insurance plan coverage, including Medicare Advantage and Medicaid, enabling broader client accessibility. The platform offers built-in compliance tools to ensure you remain compliant from day one, alongside audit support and continuous educational resources.
Headway’s comprehensive support extends beyond just helping providers get credentialed. It offers built-in Electronic Health Record (EHR) features, such as real-time scheduling, secure client messaging, end-to-end documentation templates, and built-in assessments, all integrated into a single platform to streamline practice management. Additionally, providers benefit from dependable bi-weekly payments, ensuring financial stability in their practice. The platform also offers free continuing education opportunities through Headway Academy, allowing counselors to pursue long-term professional development and earn continuing education units (CEUs).
Moreover, the client-side experience under Headway ensures increased access to mental health care by offering instant insurance verification, helping clients navigate insurance coverage with ease and reducing potential barriers to care. While Headway supports fully licensed mental health professionals at this time, the platform encourages applicants who are not yet licensed to reapply once they obtain valid licensing. Overall, the Licensed Mental Health Counselor position at Headway offers a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking company dedicated to expanding access to mental health care, increasing earnings, and simplifying the administrative complexities of private practice.
