Job Description
Headway is a transformative platform dedicated to supporting licensed mental health counselors in expanding and growing their private practices effectively by simplifying insurance acceptance. As a licensed mental health counselor with Headway, you become part of an innovative network that empowers you to increase accessibility to mental health care for a broader client base. This platform is designed to streamline the often complex processes of insurance credentialing, compliance management, and billing, allowing you to focus on providing exceptional care while steadily expanding your practice.
Founded on the principle that mental health care should be accessible to all, Headway works with over 50,000 providers nationwide, enabling them to grow their practices by connecting them to a wide range of insurance plans, including Medicare Advantage and Medicaid. Through Headway, providers benefit from a seamless credentialing process that can be completed in as few as 30 days at no cost, opening doors to a larger client demographic who rely on insurance coverage for mental health services.
Your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) within the Headway network involves launching or growing your private practice with the support of built-in tools designed to make your professional journey easier and more rewarding. As an LMHC, LPCMH, or LIMHP licensed counselor at the master’s degree level or higher, possessing a valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) and malpractice insurance, you are positioned to leverage Headway's platform to accept insurance payments efficiently and enhance your financial stability.
This is a freelance or contract opportunity offering an hourly wage of up to $117.73, reflecting both the quality of care expected and the value you bring to clients through insurance-covered mental health services. Headway ensures dependable bi-weekly payments, comprehensive compliance support from credentialing through ongoing audits, and access to a nationwide insurance network that maximizes your earning potential.
Beyond financial benefits, Headway’s platform incorporates integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR) features, such as real-time scheduling, secure client messaging, extensive documentation templates, and built-in assessments, enabling you to manage your practice efficiently within one centralized system. This integration reduces administrative burdens and enhances client engagement.
In addition to operational support, Headway offers free continuing education through Headway Academy, allowing you to earn continuing education units (CEUs) and pursue long-term professional development goals. This comprehensive support system fosters both practice growth and professional enrichment.
Headway is also deeply committed to client-centered care, improving access and affordability for patients by making insurance the primary mode of payment, thus removing the financial barrier to mental health services for many individuals. Features like instant insurance verification further smooth the client experience by eliminating uncertainties related to coverage and payments.
Please note, Headway currently supports only mental health professionals with full licensure. Applicants lacking a complete, valid license are encouraged to reapply once licensure credentials are in place. This ensures the highest standard of care and compliance within the provider network.
By joining Headway, you are positioning yourself to thrive in a supportive, technology-enabled environment that prioritizes your practice’s growth while expanding access to crucial mental health services. Whether you are beginning your private practice journey or seeking to expand an existing one with insurance-based clients, Headway is your comprehensive partner in success.
