Job Description

Headway is a pioneering mental health platform dedicated to empowering licensed mental health professionals, particularly Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs), by streamlining the process of accepting insurance and expanding their client reach. As a company committed to improving access to mental health care, Headway bridges the gap between therapists and clients who require affordable, insurance-covered services. With over 50,000 providers supported nationwide, Headway offers a seamless and efficient way for therapists to grow their private practices and make a significant impact in their communities.

Headway operates as a tech-enabled health services company that specializes in helping mental health providers become in-network with major insurance plans, including Medicare Advantage and Medicaid. This integration not only facilitates providers in securing higher reimbursement rates but also ensures dependable bi-weekly payments that contribute to financial stability. By combining technology, compliance support, and an expansive insurance network, Headway is transforming the mental health industry to create better access and care for everyone involved.

The Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) role at Headway is ideal for professionals who are either launching their private practice or seeking to expand by accepting insurance. This position involves leveraging Headway's platform to get credentialed quickly across multiple states while managing a growing client base. Therapists who join Headway benefit from built-in features like real-time scheduling, secure client messaging, comprehensive documentation templates, and integrated assessments, all designed to streamline workflow. Moreover, therapists can take advantage of free continuing education courses through Headway Academy, which fosters long-term professional development and ensures ongoing licensure compliance.

In this role, individuals must be fully licensed at a Master's level or higher with LMFT, LMFTS, or LCMFT credentials, hold a valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) number, and have malpractice insurance. Headway’s platform is committed to supporting fully licensed practitioners who are ready to make mental health care accessible and affordable through insurance acceptance.

Working with Headway means joining a mission-driven company that prioritizes both therapist support and client care. Mental health professionals gain access to a broad insurance network, simplifying credentialing and billing, which allows them to focus more on client outcomes. Clients benefit from instant insurance verification and the ability to access care without financial disruption, directly addressing common barriers to mental health services.

Overall, this role offers a competitive wage of up to $117.73 per hour, highlighting Headway’s commitment to fair compensation. Employment through Headway is contract-based with a flexible approach, enabling therapists to maintain independence while leveraging the platform’s tools and resources. This opportunity is an excellent fit for LMFTs aiming to enhance their practice’s growth using innovative technology and comprehensive insurance partnerships, all while providing exceptional care to those in need.
