Job Description
Headway is a pioneering platform designed to support licensed mental health providers in launching and expanding their private practices by enabling them to accept insurance effortlessly. Founded with the mission to increase access to mental health care, Headway helps over 50,000 providers across the United States connect with clients who require insurance-covered services. As a tech-forward company focused on mental health, Headway removes the typical barriers providers face when managing insurance credentialing, billing, and compliance. It offers an all-in-one free-to-use solution with no commitment required, allowing clinicians to focus on what they do best: providing quality care to their clients.
The role of Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with Headway is an exceptional opportunity for clinicians who are ready to either launch a new private practice or grow an existing one by integrating insurance-based payment models. This position offers up to $121 per hour as a compensation rate, making it a financially rewarding avenue for LCSWs seeking to expand their patient base through insurance access. The prospective LCSW must hold a Master's level clinical social work degree with valid licensure such as LCSW, LICSW, or LCSCW (accepted state by state), along with a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number and malpractice insurance.
Working with Headway means gaining access to a supportive environment that streamlines the credentialing process, often taking as little as 30 days to get providers accepted with multiple insurance plans, including Medicare Advantage and Medicaid. The platform also ensures ongoing compliance with audit support, making regulatory management less daunting. Providers benefit from higher reimbursement rates, dependable bi-weekly payments ensuring financial stability, and built-in electronic health record (EHR) features that centralize scheduling, client communication, documentation, and assessments.
Headway’s provider-centric approach extends to offering continuing education opportunities through Headway Academy, where providers can earn continuing education units (CEUs) for professional growth at no additional cost. This emphasis on continuous learning empowers providers to maintain and enhance their clinical skills over time.
For clients, Headway enhances access to affordable, insurance-based mental health care by simplifying insurance verification and enabling seamless appointment scheduling. This facilitates timely, uninterrupted care that can reach vulnerable populations who might otherwise face financial barriers.
Though Headway currently only supports fully licensed mental health professionals, it remains a valuable resource for clinicians who are pursuing full licensure and planning to enter private practice. Overall, this role combines clinical expertise with the benefits of a modern, efficient platform dedicated to making mental health care more accessible and sustainable, thereby allowing Licensed Clinical Social Workers to thrive professionally and financially within their practices.
