Job Description
The Lenox Hotel is a distinguished independent hotel located in the vibrant Back Bay area of Boston. Established in 1900, this historic hotel is renowned for its character, creativity, and genuine hospitality. The Lenox has earned a reputation as a welcoming, home away from home for travelers visiting Boston, offering a unique blend of luxury and comfort in an intimate setting. As a beloved landmark, the hotel prides itself on personal service and thoughtful attention to detail, empowering its team to create memorable experiences for guests through warm interactions and exceptional service. The Lenox Hotel attracts guests who appreciate a boutique environment with a strong emphasis on hospitality, making it a top choice in the competitive Boston hospitality market.
The role of Security Agent at The Lenox Hotel is a full-time, night-shift position designed to enhance the safety and security of the hotel premises while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. The Security Agent serves as a crucial ambassador to the hotel, responsible for ensuring a safe environment for guests, staff, and visitors throughout the property. This position specifically targets those available to work overnight hours, particularly from 11pm to 7am on Friday and Saturday, and from 6:30pm to 2:30am on three other nights, reflecting the busy nature of hospitality hours during these periods.
As a Security Agent, you will be integral to upholding the hotel’s safety protocols while delivering friendly and attentive service. The role requires individuals who can balance vigilance with warmth, greeting guests as they enter the lobby and restaurants, answering questions regarding amenities and services, and assisting with various operational needs such as valet requests and room service delivery during overnight hours. Security staff also play a pivotal role in collaborating with restaurant security to manage occupancy and check IDs to maintain a secure but hospitable environment.
This position not only demands a proactive approach to security, including routine building inspections and the timely reporting of security matters, but also requires strong interpersonal skills to deescalate any issues calmly and respectfully. The ideal candidate is someone with prior experience in hotel security who can efficiently manage safety protocols while contributing positively to the guest experience. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods is necessary given the active nature of the job.
The Lenox Hotel offers competitive compensation with an hourly wage range of $26 to $27, alongside an appealing benefits package including affordable medical and dental insurance, long and short-term disability coverage, a 401k plan with a generous company match, free meals during shifts, and discounted parking options. Working at The Lenox means becoming part of a team that values inclusion, dedication, and the warmth that embodies their signature hospitality.
