Job Description
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP is a globally renowned law firm with a strong presence in key legal and commercial centers across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The firm is well-regarded for its commitment to delivering superior client service and fostering a collaborative, integrated work culture. Its diverse practice areas and strategic global footprint make it a prominent choice for legal professionals seeking to work at the forefront of the legal industry. Morgan Lewis emphasizes excellence, inclusivity, and a supportive environment where employees at all levels can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the firm’s continuing success.
The firm is currently seeking a Legal Administrative Specialist (LAS) to join its Litigation Practice Group. This role is essential in providing extensive administrative, secretarial, and document processing support to litigation attorneys, enabling them to focus on delivering top-tier client services. The LAS will work primarily in-office three days per week, facilitating an integrated team approach while allowing some flexibility based on client demands or practice group accommodations.
The Legal Administrative Specialist position requires a detail-oriented professional adept at managing multiple tasks efficiently. The individual will regularly use task delegation and workflow management software such as BigHand to track assignments and maintain seamless communication with supervisors. The role involves a variety of responsibilities ranging from word processing, proofreading, scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and managing complex document preparation like redlining, compiling exhibits, and preparing signature packets.
Moreover, the LAS will be involved in business intake processing, expense report management, travel arrangements, and providing legal research and project assistance as necessary. This position demands a professional who appreciates accuracy, timeliness, and high standards in supporting legal professionals within a fast-paced litigation environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PDF software is crucial for success, as well as experience with state and federal court procedures.
Candidates must have a minimum of seven years of administrative support experience, preferably within a law firm setting supporting litigation practices. A bachelor’s degree is advantageous but not mandatory. The firm values individuals who consistently meet or exceed performance expectations and demonstrate flexibility, including the ability to work overtime when necessary.
Based in Los Angeles, the salary range for this role is $86,825 to $113,131, reflecting Morgan Lewis’s commitment to competitive compensation aligned with experience and expertise. The firm is also deeply committed to equal employment opportunities, inclusion, and reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities or other protected characteristics, ensuring a welcoming workplace for all qualified applicants.
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP not only provides a platform for legal administrative professionals to grow but also stands as a stalwart advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the legal profession. Joining the firm means becoming part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to excellence, client service, and professional development in a supportive and dynamic environment.
