The Leasing Professional role at TAM Residential is integral to the company’s mission of creating vibrant, thriving communities. This position acts as the front-line ambassador for each community, responsible for delivering a welcoming and positive experience to both prospective and current residents. The Leasing Professional’s primary duties involve building strong relationships, showcasing property features, and guiding prospects through the leasing process with professionalism and care. Beyond leasing, this role contributes significantly to resident satisfaction and retention by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining an up-to-date understanding of leasing operations, market trends, and competitive property landscapes.
In this full-time position, the Leasing Professional is expected to maintain the leasing office and model apartments to high standards while managing leasing materials and forms. The role includes greeting and qualifying prospective residents, conducting tours, following up with inquiries, collecting application fees and deposits, and ensuring accurate lease agreement explanations. The Leasing Professional coordinates move-in documentation and dates with community management while generating and utilizing detailed leasing reports to track performance. Moreover, the role involves fostering local business relationships to build referral networks and supporting resident retention efforts through renewal communications and community events.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous leasing or customer service experience preferred
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and property management software
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends if necessary
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance if required by job duties
Job Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic proficiency with computers and property management software
- Experience with Entrata is a plus
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Ability to handle and take in formal complaints and escalate them to the appropriate manager
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance if job duties require the use of a vehicle or golf cart
Job Duties
- Maintain the leasing office and model apartments to the highest standards of cleanliness and professional appearance
- Ensure an adequate supply of leasing materials, forms, and marketing aids at all times
- Greet, qualify, and tour prospective residents
- effectively present the features and benefits of the community to secure new leases
- Professionally handle all phone and email inquiries, ensuring prompt and courteous follow-up
- Collect application fees and deposits in accordance with company policies (no cash accepted)
- Accurately explain lease agreements, policies, and procedures to new residents
- Verify completion of all move-in documentation and coordinate move-in dates with the Community Manager
- Generate, understand, and utilize daily, weekly, and monthly leasing reports
- Maintain knowledge of local market conditions by shopping competitive properties and monitoring rental rates
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, merchants, and referral sources
- Promote resident retention by assisting with renewal efforts, resident events, and community communications
- Conduct move-in follow-ups to ensure resident satisfaction
- Consistently uphold Fair Housing laws, company policies, and professional standards
- Arrive to work on time, maintain a neat, professional appearance, and demonstrate courteous, respectful interactions with residents, prospects, and team members
