The role of Leasing Consultant is a pivotal position within our property management team. This position involves managing communications with prospective residents, conducting apartment tours, handling lease documentation, and maintaining resident files with meticulous attention to detail. The Leasing Consultant is responsible for delivering an outstanding customer experience from the initial inquiry through lease signing, including providing detailed move-in presentations and assisting with lease renewals. Candidates for this role will have demonstrated experience in sales or property management, possess strong communication skills, and be comfortable working with leasing software such as OneSite and Microsoft Office applications. The position requires a professional who is organized, customer-oriented, and able to effectively coordinate appointments, manage records, and facilitate smooth leasing transactions. This full-time role requires candidates to produce results and uphold company standards related to housing laws and resident rights. A valid driver's license is preferred, and knowledge of Fair Housing laws is essential. Successful candidates must also pass a background check and drug screening as part of our hiring process. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum one year sales or property management experience
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and OneSite software
  • basic knowledge of Federal, State, and local Fair Housing laws
  • valid driver's license preferred
  • pass drug screening and extensive background check

Job Duties

  • Receive phone inquiries directing the call to the proper party or recording messages correctly
  • receive phone calls from prospective residents obtaining necessary information, quote apartment availability and prices, encourage scheduling visits
  • meet prospective residents, answer questions, conduct property and apartment tours, obtain initial information, review lease requirements, solicit completion of application
  • prepare and maintain complete resident file system, ensuring all necessary forms and leases are current
  • record resident service requests accurately to assist maintenance team
  • schedule and inspect apartments for turnkey service
  • receive and acknowledge resident notices and prepare files
  • assist in lease renewal process by completing printouts and submitting to manager
  • send renewal letters to residents unreachable by phone
  • type new leases and addendums
  • assemble move-in packages
  • keep market survey of competitor rates up to date and visit competitors annually
  • keep all filing current
  • schedule guest apartment and clubhouse rentals
  • operate office alarm system during office opening and closing
  • deliver thorough move-in presentations to new residents
  • calculate daily rent, prorata charges, late fees, and percentages using arithmetic skills
