Job Description
Prometheus, established in 1965, is the largest privately held apartment owner in the San Francisco Bay Area, boasting a portfolio of more than 13,000 apartments throughout the Silicon Valley, Portland, and Seattle. This company stands out for its long-term real estate investment strategy, which emphasizes enduring quality in every facet of its operations—from carefully selecting locations to thoughtful design decisions and ongoing reinvestment into its communities. Prometheus is not only recognized for its sustainable business practices but also proudly holds the distinction of being a Certified B Corporation. This certification affirms the company's commitment to meeting the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. With over 500 dedicated employees known as Prometheans, the company operates a home office in San Mateo along with satellite offices in Portland and additional locations across the Bay Area.
The role of Neighbor Ambassador at Prometheus is far more than a traditional leasing agent position; it encompasses a multifaceted blend of customer service, sales, and administrative responsibilities that play a pivotal role in creating vibrant, engaged communities. As a Neighbor Ambassador, you will be deeply involved in fostering a sense of home and belonging among residents—referred to as Neighbors—ensuring they feel cared for, valued, and proud to reside within Prometheus Neighborhoods. The role demands excellent interpersonal skills to deliver outstanding customer service, alongside sales acumen to guide prospective residents, or Future Neighbors, through a seamless and positive leasing experience known as the Ultimate Leasing Experience.
Moreover, the position requires proficiency in administrative functions related to property management, including preparing rental agreements, conducting market research, and maintaining accurate records and reports. The dynamic nature of the role means that no two days are the same; Neighbor Ambassadors are encouraged to utilize creativity and problem-solving skills to meet the varying challenges they encounter. This position offers a unique entry point into a rewarding long-term career within a company that values passion, teamwork, and innovation.
Understanding that weekends represent peak activity for the communities, the role includes weekend work but balances it with regular weekdays off, supporting team members’ overall work-life balance. Compensation for this position ranges from $25.00 to $28.75 per hour, complemented by a generous $200 incentive per lease, discretionary semi-annual bonuses, and weekend shift premium pay. Additional bonuses include referral incentives, training coach bonuses, and participation in leasing contests, further enhancing earning potential.
The comprehensive benefits package at Prometheus goes beyond traditional offerings, featuring 100% company-paid medical, vision, and dental plans for eligible employees and dependents, life and disability insurance, behavioral health support available 24/7, tax-free flexible spending accounts, and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching. Employees also enjoy paid vacation starting at 10 days annually with increases over time, anniversary vacations, sick leave, 12 paid holidays including birthdays, paid volunteer time, tenure-based housing discounts, and educational assistance programs such as tuition reimbursement. Prometheus’s enriching work environment is designed to support not only its communities but also its employees’ professional growth and personal wellbeing, making it an employer of choice in the real estate and property management industry.
