Additionally, the consultant assists new residents with completing leasing paperwork, including applications, lease agreements, and conducting employment or credit checks. Handling payments such as security deposits and rent, managing lease renewals, and employing creative marketing techniques to attract new residents further enhance this role's importance within the property management team.
Beyond customer interaction, the Leasing Consultant must also ensure that apartments are move-in ready by inspecting units and adding finishing touches when necessary. Close collaboration with the property manager and other team members ensures the community operates efficiently and retains satisfied residents. Job Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and exposure to social media
- Knowledge of leasing software a plus including Yardi, Blue Moon, Entrata, Onesite, MRI
- Ability to work weekends as required

Job Duties
- Greet prospective residents and give tours while determining housing needs, preferences, and closing leads
- Assist new residents with leasing paperwork, including applications, lease agreements, and employment/credit checks
- Collect security deposits, rent, and any other charges associated with resident move-ins
- Communicate all lease and community policies to new and current residents
- Follow up with all leads and prospects that did not lease
- Ensure apartments are move-in ready by inspecting, and adding last-minute touches when appropriate
- Seek out new residents with creative marketing techniques
- Manage the lease renewal process and retention efforts
- Respond promptly to calls, emails, and inquiries
