The Leasing Consultant role at Hawthorne is a dynamic and customer-focused position, often known as Leasing & Live It Specialists. These professionals serve as the face of Hawthorne's communities, embodying the brand and culture in every interaction. Their primary responsibility is to create outstanding experiences for prospective and current residents by offering engaging apartment tours, responding promptly to inquiries, and fostering connections that inspire people to make Hawthorne home. Leasing Consultants not only help convert prospects into residents through relationship-building and thoughtful follow-up, but they also contribute to community engagement by organizing resident events and assisting with marketing efforts. Leasing Consultants at Hawthorne enjoy a structured work schedule with hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, including one weekday off each week to maintain a 40-hour work week. Evening and weekend availability may be required occasionally for resident events or community needs. Alongside their base hourly wages, Leasing Consultants are eligible for monthly commissions and incentive programs, reflecting the company's acknowledgment of their contributions to occupancy and lease renewal goals. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Availability to work Monday-Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends for resident events
  • At least one year of customer service, sales, or leasing experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to engage with diverse populations
  • Willingness to learn and be coached
  • Basic computer skills

Job Duties

  • Greet prospective residents with warmth and professionalism
  • Conduct personalized apartment tours that highlight the lifestyle and value of the community
  • Respond to phone, email, and web inquiries promptly and thoroughly
  • Convert leads to leases through follow-up, relationship-building, and deep understanding of resident needs
  • Complete leasing applications, verifications, and new move-in paperwork accurately
  • Contribute to community occupancy and renewal goals
  • Coordinate and attend resident events and community engagement initiatives
  • Respond to resident questions and concerns with empathy and efficiency
  • Promote a clean, welcoming environment by helping maintain office and common areas
  • Assist in marketing the property through social media and community outreach
  • Stay informed on local market trends and competitor properties
