The Leasing Consultant role at Fortis Property Management is a full-time, hourly position primarily focused on leasing apartments and achieving optimal rental income while ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. This position is crucial for the success of the community as the Leasing Consultant is responsible for assisting prospective residents, guiding them through the leasing process, and maintaining positive relations with current residents to encourage renewals. The role includes providing property tours, answering inquiries by telephone and in-person, quoting accurate lease terms and prices, and following up with potential tenants to close deals efficiently.

The Leasing Consultant must be knowledgeable about the local real estate market, comparable properties, and the surrounding community. Additionally, strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills are essential to handle leasing paperwork, prepare accurate lease agreements, collect deposits and rents, and manage move-in processes. The ability to provide superior customer service and uphold a professional image at all times is vital. The Leasing Consultant also implements company policies, including adherence to Fair Housing and ADA regulations, to ensure compliance and fairness in all leasing activities.

Job Requirements

  • Prior customer service experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work full-time hours

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Prior leasing/sales experience is preferred
  • Prior experience in a multifamily lease-up phase strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in social media preferred
  • Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, RealPage, MRI, AppFolio)
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Job Duties

  • Show apartments, proficient sales skills
  • Provide information to prospects via telephone and personal visits

  • Thorough knowledge of the immediate market and all comparable properties

  • Ensure all necessary application paperwork is obtained from prospects
