Job Description
BH (B.HOM) is a people-first multifamily owner and operator that has grown from a small startup into one of the nation’s largest commercial real estate companies. Founded in 1993, BH has established itself as a prominent leader in the property management industry, managing over 100,000 residential units across the United States. With a workforce of more than 2,800 employees, BH is known for its commitment to doing business the right way, emphasizing ethical practices, and investing deeply in its team members. The company prides itself on owning its processes in-house, leading innovation-driven, customer-centric property management and leasing services.
BH has consistently been recognized by Fortune Magazine as a top workplace, receiving honors such as "Best Workplace for Women," "Best Workplace for Millennials," and "Best Workplaces for Diversity," reflecting the company's inclusive, diverse culture and supportive environment. The company’s approach hinges on a can-do attitude, continuous improvement, and fostering a welcoming community for its residents and employees alike. BH champions the philosophy that how things are done matters just as much as what is achieved, underscoring its dedication to professionalism, respect, and accountability.
Within this thriving multifamily environment, the Leasing Consultant role is essential to connecting prospective residents with suitable living spaces while upholding the high standards of service and compliance set by the company and industry regulations. Reporting directly to the Community Manager, the Leasing Consultant acts as the frontline representative of BH's property communities, tasked with marketing available units, processing applications, and facilitating lease agreements. This position does not have direct reports but plays a pivotal role in maintaining occupancy rates and ensuring community satisfaction.
The Leasing Consultant is responsible for responding promptly and professionally to inquiries and leads from prospective residents. This includes conducting detailed tours of model and available units, accurately preparing lease paperwork, and managing all communications reliably. Critical to the role is an in-depth understanding of Fair Housing laws and company standards to guarantee fair, legal, and transparent leasing processes.
In addition to leasing and administrative responsibilities, the Leasing Consultant is involved in routine inspections of units prior to showing to potential tenants, assisting in move-out inspections, and supporting overall community maintenance efforts to preserve the property’s appeal. The position requires staying current with local market trends, competitor offerings, and all promotion or leasing incentives to effectively market the property and secure leases.
BH expects its Leasing Consultants to embody strong customer service values, demonstrating excellent communication skills and an ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of people. The role demands organizational aptitude and sales skills to drive rental conversions and meet occupancy targets.
This is a full-time, on-site position with a standard Monday to Friday work schedule, although flexibility may be required for overtime and participation in on-call rotations to support business needs. Candidates must have previous customer service experience and either possess or be able to obtain any state-required leasing licenses within legal timeframes.
Joining BH means becoming part of a supportive and innovative company that values its employees and fosters career growth. The organization is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer dedicated to cultivating an inclusive workplace where every individual is valued and empowered. BH’s compensation is competitive and based on relevant skills and experience, reflecting its respect for talent across multiple U.S. markets.
