The Learning & Development Manager role at the Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills is a critical position responsible for ensuring the ongoing growth and development of the hotel’s team members. This role involves designing, managing, and facilitating comprehensive training programs that enhance employee skills and support the hotel’s operational goals. The manager plays a key role in onboarding new employees through programs such as Embark and New Leader Orientation, as well as maintaining effective training initiatives like Service Foundations, GROW, and compliance requirements. Additionally, the Learning & Development Manager oversees the Designated Trainer program, ensuring trainers are well-prepared and supported.
This position also partners with hotel management to identify performance gaps and deliver targeted learning solutions, coaching managers to maintain consistent department training, and facilitating leadership development. The manager is tasked with compliance training for safety and other regulatory requirements, and evaluates the effectiveness of training programs through measurable results and behavioral changes. Strategic responsibilities include conducting Learning Needs Analyses, creating aligned training plans and calendars, marketing the learning function, managing budgets, and executing company-wide change initiatives.
Candidates should have a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of three years in a managerial role, preferably in adult education or luxury hotel operations with exposure to diverse cultures. Job Duties
- Manages and facilitates onboarding and core learning programs including Embark, Service Foundations, New Leader Orientation, GROW, and compliance training
- Ensures new managers complete the New Leader Orientation program to successfully finish their probation
- Maintains and develops the Designated Trainer program including training and coaching trainers
- Partners with hotel management to identify performance gaps and provide training solutions
- Plans and co-facilitates training activities and coaches managers to maintain consistent departmental training
- Facilitates management and leadership development programs and assists with creating development plans
- Manages compliance and safety training in collaboration with People & Culture or Department Heads
- Conducts Learning Needs Analyses, creates training plans, develops learning programs, markets the learning function, evaluates training effectiveness, manages budgets, and leads company-wide change initiatives
