The Nutrition and Food Services Leader 1 role at Wellstar offers a unique opportunity for energetic and motivated individuals to contribute meaningfully to the department responsible for food service operations. The role demands a proactive leader who can coordinate various functions within the food service area, uphold safety standards set by the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and county health authorities, and foster a positive work environment.

This leadership position encompasses a variety of responsibilities such as managing workstations, ensuring adherence to hygiene and infection prevention practices, monitoring food storage protocols, and sustaining equipment safety. The incumbent is expected to lead by example, participate as a Nutrition Assistant when needed, and complete financial and productivity reporting. Job Duties

  • Ensure employees follow proper handwashing and glove usage
  • uphold infection prevention practices and correct hygiene risks
  • maintain clean and organized work areas free of hazards
  • monitor and record food and equipment temperatures and address issues
  • ensure proper labeling, dating, and rotation of food and supplies
  • ensure equipment is operated safely and issues are resolved
  • set up, maintain, and break down workstations according to requirements
  • ensure accurate completion of tasks and adherence to instructions
  • complete area checklists and hold employees accountable
  • operate and care for equipment per guidelines
