Job Description
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is a pioneering boutique hospitality company known for its heartfelt, human-centered approach to service. Founded in 1981 in San Francisco by Bill Kimpton, the company has always rebelled against the impersonal and generic hospitality standards that make guests feel disconnected. Instead, Kimpton set out to create an environment where genuine connections flourish between guests, coworkers, owners, and the community. This ethos of heartfelt hospitality and meaningful human connection remains at the core of the company today. Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants prides itself on fostering a lively, rebellious, and genuinely inclusive culture where employees are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work. The company values diversity in all forms — backgrounds, talents, experiences, and personalities — and recognizes that this diversity drives creativity, self-leadership, and passion for service. This empowering work environment is quirky, exceptional, and immensely rewarding for both staff and guests. Working at Kimpton means having the opportunity to improve lives every day through unique, meaningful contributions.
The role of a Parking Attendant Supervisor at Kimpton Hotels is integral to delivering the exceptional service standard that guests expect. This position focuses on overseeing the parking services department, ensuring all guests receive attentive and professional care while their vehicles are handled with the utmost caution. Essential to this role is upholding the five hospitality standards: eye contact, smile, speaking first, engaging in polite conversation, and using the guest's surname, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere from arrival to departure. The supervisor is responsible not only for managing the parking services but also for staffing, training, and scheduling garage attendants to meet service demand continually. This leadership position requires a proactive attitude and a genuine passion for hospitality, as well as skills in recruitment, employee development, and operational oversight. Parking attendants under the supervisor’s guidance ensure that guests receive time-stamped parking tickets, accurate information regarding parking policies and local driving directions, and assistance with car care services such as washing and waxing. Safety is a top priority, with attendants vigilantly monitoring for issues like sticky brakes and managing emergency situations to keep the garage accessible for emergency vehicles. The role also includes maintaining the security and cleanliness of the garage area, preventing unauthorized access, and communicating effectively with the front desk about parked vehicles. This position offers an enriching opportunity to lead a dedicated team within a remarkable hospitality culture that champions individuality, connection, and exceptional guest experiences.
