Job Description

The Child Development Center is a well-established, non-profit preschool located in Southwest Austin that provides early childhood education and care for children from infancy through Pre-Kindergarten. Recognized for its commitment to quality, the center holds prestigious accreditations including NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) and a 4-Star Texas Rising Star rating. This highlights the center's dedication to maintaining high standards aligned with recognized national and state early childhood education guidelines. The preschool fosters a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive environment where children, families, and staff are valued equally. The center emphasizes a strong community approach, focusing on positive relationships and collaborative teamwork among teachers, administrators, and families. Staff members benefit from competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and ongoing professional development opportunities, all aimed at promoting a rewarding and sustainable career in early childhood education.

The position of Lead Threes and Pre-K Teachers at The Child Development Center is a full-time, exempt, year-round role that operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. The role is crucial in delivering high-quality education for young learners through play-based learning methodologies that stimulate development and creativity. Lead Teachers act as educational leaders within their classrooms, responsible for not only planning and implementing age-appropriate curricula but also mentoring and supporting Assistant Teachers. With low teacher-to-student ratios and daily planning time provided, teachers can ensure individualized attention affords a rich learning environment tailored to each child’s needs. Compensation ranges from $55,000 to $63,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience, reflecting the center’s commitment to offering one of the most competitive salaries in the industry and local area.

Teachers benefit from generous paid holidays including paid time off during Spring and Winter breaks, plus additional individual PTO, enabling a healthy work-life balance. The center also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401K with generous matching after the first year, and paid parental leave, emphasizing support for employees at every stage of their lives. The role demands strong leadership, classroom management skills, and a passion for fostering a stimulating, safe, and nurturing learning environment where children can thrive. Collaboration with a diverse team of educators and communication with families are key components of the job, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged in children’s educational journeys. The selected candidate will contribute to maintaining the center’s standards and licensing compliance, always upholding confidentiality and respect for all families and cultures represented in the community.
