Job Description
The Nugget Casino Resort is a premier destination known for its wide array of gaming, dining, and entertainment options. Located in a vibrant community, the resort prides itself on offering an exceptional guest experience through its dedicated team and state-of-the-art facilities. As a well-established hospitality company, the Nugget Casino Resort emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and outstanding service standards to ensure the satisfaction and comfort of every visitor. With a commitment to creating a positive and professional environment, the resort fosters teamwork and continuous improvement among its staff while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
The role of Steward Lead within the Nugget Casino Resort is a critical position that supports the Steward Supervisor in managing the kitchen steward team during assigned shifts. This supervisory role demands a proactive leader who can oversee the execution of cleanliness and sanitation standards in the resort's kitchens effectively. The Steward Lead is responsible for assigning tasks, inspecting work to ensure high-quality outcomes, and maintaining communication channels across different levels within the organization. This role involves hands-on operational duties including managing inventory, operating cleaning machinery, and handling banquet equipment. Given the dynamic environment of a busy casino resort kitchen, the Steward Lead must be able to manage multiple priorities while upholding safety and sanitation standards.
This full-time position requires a minimum of two years of experience in stewarding or janitorial roles, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrate strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods are essential due to the nature of the work. The Steward Lead must also be comfortable working in an environment that includes variable temperatures, lighting, and noise levels, sometimes working outdoors during special events. This position is ideal for individuals committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest service in a fast-paced hospitality setting while leading and motivating a team to excel.
