We are currently seeking a highly experienced and driven Lead Software Engineer to join our team at our New York, NY location. This is a pivotal role responsible for leading the modernization of our Assessment platform, an essential tool that supports both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) interactions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in modern application development, a passion for emerging technologies, and a strong commitment to technical leadership and mentorship. The Lead Software Engineer will take ownership of the platform’s technical vision, ensuring the system is scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable for long-term growth and evolving business demands.
In this role, you will architect and implement cutting-edge solutions utilizing technologies such as TypeScript, React, React Native, Flutter, and GraphQL. You will be responsible for establishing engineering best practices, defining coding standards, conducting code reviews, and driving architectural decisions that uphold the highest quality standards. The Lead Software Engineer will design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, contribute to DevSecOps practices, and optimize platform hosting and deployment strategies to achieve superior reliability and performance.
Your leadership will directly impact the company’s ability to scale assessments, integrate with third-party systems, and handle increasing transaction volumes with confidence and security. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, business stakeholders, mobile and web development teams, and shared services to ensure architectural alignment and deliver robust technical solutions that enhance customer and partner experiences.
Candidates for this position should bring not only technical proficiency but also a systems-level mindset that balances immediate delivery needs with sustainable architectural health. The role demands a hands-on leader who is pragmatic, outcomes-driven, and passionate about continuous learning and improvement. Strong communication skills and the capacity to influence technical direction at various organizational levels are essential. Resilience, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit in mentoring fellow engineers are highly valued qualities.
This position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $180,000 to $205,000, with the potential for additional incentive compensation amounting to 15% of base pay. This compensation package reflects geographic location, experience, and qualifications.
