This role is an integral part of the Technology & Digital organization within Disney Experiences, where the team works cross-functionally to deliver high-impact solutions. The Lead Software Engineer position reports to the Senior Manager of Technology and is a pivotal role focused on driving the architecture and development of scalable, intelligent financial systems tailored for licensing operations. This position is key to advancing AI-driven applications that transform licensing workflows, optimize forecasting processes, and enhance compliance monitoring through machine learning. Additionally, the role involves significant collaboration with product managers, finance teams, and data scientists to design and execute platforms that integrate with both internal resources and external financial services.
The Lead Software Engineer will not only lead the technical execution of projects but also foster a culture of technical excellence and innovation. Responsibilities encompass the full software development lifecycle, including system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting solutions. This leader is expected to mentor junior engineers, advocate for best practices in software development, and stay abreast of emerging trends in AI and cloud-native technologies. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience
- proven leadership skills managing complex technical projects
- demonstrated expertise with financial systems or licensing operations
- proficiency in Java and Python programming languages
- experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
- knowledge of agile software development methodologies and CI/CD processes
- strong communication and collaboration abilities
Job Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of complex projects
- proven experience with financial systems, licensing workflows, or royalty management platforms
- hands-on expertise of developing and deploying custom AI solutions using LLMs to automate business processes or improve business outcomes in enterprise environments
- excellent programming skills in languages such as Java and Python
- experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
- agile development experience and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Job Duties
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of software solutions for licensing financial systems and AI-powered applications
