Job Description

Emerald Queen Casino is a premier gaming and entertainment destination operated by the Puyallup Tribe, located in Washington State. Renowned for its vibrant casino floor, diverse gaming options, and commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences, Emerald Queen stands as a leader in the tribal gaming industry. The casino combines cutting-edge technology and a welcoming environment to ensure fun and safety for all patrons. It also emphasizes responsible gaming and fair play, adhering strictly to regulatory standards mandated by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission.

The Lead Soft Count Clerk role at Emerald Queen Casino is a critical position within the casino's financial and operations team. This full-time role is designed for a professional who can efficiently oversee the soft count room activities and personnel, especially in the absence of the Soft Count Supervisor. The position demands accuracy, integrity, and exceptional supervisory skills as it involves managing the count and recording of drop boxes which contain chips and currency collected from the gaming floor. The Lead Soft Count Clerk ensures all operations adhere to department protocols, monitors the proper sorting and counting of chips, and manages the strapping of currency for transfer to the cage.

This position requires the individual to maintain impeccable records and oversee the posting of game summaries, an essential task that supports transparent cash handling and audit processes. The Lead Soft Count Clerk also plays an important role in preparing cash and chips for transfer procedures, ensuring secure and timely delivery to the appropriate casino departments. Working at Emerald Queen Casino offers a supportive environment where the employee contributes directly to the integrity and smooth functioning of casino operations. This role provides competitive compensation starting at $24.43 per hour, which increases to $25.01 per hour after successful completion of a 90-day orientation period. Moreover, employees benefit from comprehensive, employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages that promote overall well-being and job satisfaction.

The Lead Soft Count Clerk at Emerald Queen Casino is expected to demonstrate high levels of accountability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. The role involves standing for extended periods, handling up to 25 pounds, and operating in a sometimes smoke-filled environment, requiring physical stamina and dexterity. The candidate must also be capable of working various shifts including day, swing, graveyard, and holiday schedules. The casino provides all necessary training and requires possession of a Class III A license and various certifications like TITLE 31 SARC, Responsible Gaming, Customer Service, Sexual Harassment, and Cash Handling. Emerald Queen Casino is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and promotes Indian Preference in hiring according to tribal policies. This job offers the chance to become an integral part of a respected tribal gaming institution dedicated to operational excellence and responsible gaming practices.
