The role of Lead Sleep Technologist is a pivotal leadership and clinical position within the sleep center. The Lead Sleep Technologist conducts, records, and scores sleep studies in real-time, strictly adhering to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines. Key operational responsibilities include ensuring the proper functioning and calibration of all sleep lab equipment, backing up patient polysomnographic data, and providing technical support for new procedures and protocols. The lead collaborates closely with the Sleep Center Medical Director and administrative leadership to ensure timely scoring and accurate reporting for physician interpretation, which is essential for efficient patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
