Job Description

Canterbury Woods is a distinguished continuing care retirement community located in Buffalo, New York. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Server to join our growing team. This is a Regular Part Time position requiring approximately 30 hours per week, with scheduled hours from Tuesday to Saturday, 2pm to 8pm. The role of Lead Server at Canterbury Woods involves not only serving meals but also leading and training new servers, ensuring that all dietary and service procedures are meticulously followed. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a fine dining atmosphere by providing exceptional customer service to residents and their guests. The position requires someone with strong interpersonal skills, capable of tactfully interacting with staff, residents, family members, and visitors. In addition to meal service, the Lead Server will keep the dining supervisor informed of any issues related to meal service or resident concerns, assist in meal serving promptly, and ensure a smooth dining operation. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of waitstaff experience
  • Experience in dining supervision preferred
  • Ability to interact tactfully with diverse groups
  • Availability to work Tuesday through Saturday, 2pm to 8pm

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, and visitors
  • 2 years of waitstaff experience is required
  • Experience in dining supervision is preferred

Job Duties

  • Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
  • Keep the dining supervisor informed of any issues with meal service or any resident meal issues
  • Train and work with new servers, ensuring they are following customer service guidelines
  • Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents and guests in a fine dining atmosphere
