Job Description

This esteemed organization is a leader in providing exceptional culinary services within a health center environment dedicated to enhancing the nutritional and social experiences of its residents. The company prides itself on a commitment to quality, genuine hospitality, and a culture of excellence that resonates throughout its service team. As a service provider in the culinary industry, the organization focuses on merging fresh, local ingredients with innovative dining concepts that promote wellness and community engagement. Employees here are valued not only for their technical skills but also for their dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for residents and team members alike. This particular position, the Lead Server, plays an integral role within the Service Team, and is vital for ensuring the seamless delivery of nutritional and social dining services in line with established operational standards and regulatory compliance. The role is a full-time, dynamic opportunity that requires flexibility to adapt to the varied operational schedule of the health center, which includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Lead Server acts as a pivotal figure in mentoring and training new and existing team members, often taking on the responsibility of bridging communication between management and service staff to elevate the team's overall performance and cohesion.

The Lead Server is entrusted with demonstrating exemplary competency in all core responsibilities of a Health Center Server, with the added expectation of serving as a departmental trainer and mentor. This includes providing training resources, coaching, and ongoing support tailored to the diverse service settings within the health center—upscale dining, casual and quick-service formats, catering, banquet production, and more. The Lead Server must work collaboratively with Service Supervisors, Managers, and the Director of Nutritional Wellness to continuously refine service protocols, training programs, and operational efficiencies. The position requires a proactive approach to ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations from departments such as the Department of Public Health (DPH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other local mandates.

In this role, you will be the 'go-to' resource for team members, providing mentorship and reinforcing the company's values through your conduct and work ethic. You will actively contribute to initiatives promoting a culture of genuine hospitality, fresh and natural food sourcing, and a community-oriented wellness philosophy. Your responsibilities will extend to coordinating with culinary leadership on menu tastings, controlling food and beverage inventory, ensuring safe and sanitary food service environments, and participating in educational and public engagement efforts. The successful candidate is a role model capable of handling a flexible work schedule that aligns with the health center's essential service operations, sometimes requiring availability beyond typical working hours. They are committed to delivering a wholesome, nutritious, and safe dining experience that continually exceeds residents' expectations, supports team development, and advances the culinary services mission of the organization.
