Job Description
The Moorings of Arlington Heights is a distinguished senior living community under the Presbyterian Living umbrella, dedicated to providing exceptional care and a vibrant living experience for its residents. As an independent, not-for-profit organization with a long-standing history dating back to 1904, Presbyterian Living offers a comprehensive continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care. The Moorings of Arlington Heights specifically serves its community with compassion, professionalism, and a mission-driven focus on enhancing the quality of life for seniors. Nestled in Arlington Heights, this facility is part of a larger network that includes communities in Evanston and Lake Forest, all united by a shared commitment to resident-centered care and employee support.
At The Moorings of Arlington Heights, the work culture emphasizes collaboration, compassion, and respect, creating an environment where employees can thrive and contribute meaningfully. The organization has earned recognition as a Great Place to Work, which reflects its dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging workplace. This reputation is not only a testament to the high standards in resident care but also to the supportive environment cultivated for its staff.
The Lead Server role within the Dining Department is a full-time position offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $21.02 to $29.32, dependent on experience, with potential bonus opportunities. The standard work schedule is 7.5-hour shifts, five days a week, including rotating weekends, between 11:30 am and 8:00 pm. This position plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality dining services to residents, ensuring their mealtime experience is personalized, enjoyable, and aligns with their dietary needs.
As a Lead Server, you will be more than a service provider; you will be an ambassador of warmth and hospitality. Your duties will extend beyond serving food and beverages, involving tablet-based order taking for accuracy, maintaining detailed knowledge of the menu and dietary requirements, and ensuring the dining environment remains neat and inviting. This multi-faceted position demands excellent interpersonal skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a genuine passion for serving others.
The Moorings values individuals who lead with heart, can handle assigned tasks proactively throughout dining operations, and who collaborate effectively with coworkers and supervisors. This role affords the chance to be part of a team that prioritizes wellness, independence, joy, and security in the seniors they serve. It’s perfect for someone looking to make a difference in seniors' daily lives while growing professionally within a supportive and values-driven organization.
Working at The Moorings also means accessing a comprehensive benefits package that underscores their commitment to employee well-being. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, access to onsite fitness facilities, PTO rollover and sellback options, a 403(b) retirement plan with matching contributions, commuter benefits, financial counseling, life insurance, disability coverage, employee assistance programs, and opportunities for tuition reimbursement and career development through mentorship and scholarships. Additionally, the employer fosters a sense of community and spiritual support through engagement events and 24/7 chaplain counseling.
If you possess over three years of serving experience, strong English proficiency, and, preferably, a Serve Safe Food Handler certification, you will be well-prepared to excel in this impactful role. The Moorings of Arlington Heights invites passionate individuals who embody empathy, professionalism, and teamwork to apply and become a vital part of a workplace that truly feels like family. Joining this team means embracing an opportunity to contribute positively to an elder community while advancing your career in a stable, caring environment.
