The role of Table Captain at Belmont Village Senior Living is pivotal in ensuring an inviting dining atmosphere and an outstanding meal service experience for the community’s residents. This position is ideal for individuals who are reliable, empathetic, and take great pride in delivering excellent hospitality. As a Table Captain, the employee will work closely with the dining room supervisor and other dining room servers to provide hands-on table service, especially during special events. Ensuring guest satisfaction, team collaboration, and operational excellence, the Table Captain is responsible for supervising servers in the manager’s absence and ensuring that dining services meet the community’s high standards.

Hours for this position are Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:30 am to 7 pm, including holiday shifts, with no tipping involved. This role requires an individual who thrives in a physically active and fast-paced environment and is capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently. The Table Captain plays a critical role in special event planning and execution, working alongside other departments to coordinate seamless dining celebrations for residents. The role also involves assisting with room service processes and maintaining cleanliness and order within the dining room to meet the community’s expectations.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work evenings weekends and holidays as needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • 1 year prior restaurant server experience with demonstrated knowledge of dining etiquette
  • must be able to efficiently multi-task be an active listener and collaborate effectively with team members
  • demonstrates leadership skills a willingness to learn and work in a hands-on hospitality oriented position

Job Duties

  • Supervise servers in the absence of the dining room manager and ensuring overall guest satisfaction
  • provide attentive and personalized service to a group of assigned tables in our on-site restaurant ensuring a positive dining experience
  • take accurate orders answer menu questions and deliver food and beverages in a timely and professional manner
  • ensure orders are served at the correct temperature with proper presentation and accuracy
  • prepare and set up the dining room for service ensuring flatware condiments and beverages are always ready
  • work collaboratively with residents and other departments to plan coordinate and facilitate special dining events and celebrations
  • assist the dining room manager with room service process
  • maintain cleanliness of dining room and assigned tables ensuring guest needs are met throughout each meal
