The role available is for a union Lead Security Concierge at a luxury residential building located in Chicago’s River North area. This position is a second shift role from Monday to Friday, requiring the ability to work extended shifts of at least four hours. The Lead Security Concierge plays a critical supervisory role on site, helping to oversee the operational aspects of security on their assigned shift. Reporting directly to the Site Supervisor, Director, or Titan management, this position entails managing a team of security officers with responsibilities that include scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, and professional development. The Lead is responsible for ensuring that the client site receives the highest quality security services to protect both people and property.

Key aspects of the role include handling escalated security issues and emergency situations in a calm and efficient manner, developing technical and professional skills of team members through performance management, and fostering a positive work environment based on respect and support. The Lead Concierge is also involved in coordinating and conducting site-specific and client-specific training, ensuring that all operational procedures and post orders are maintained and accessible for emergencies.

This position requires practical knowledge of post instructions, maintaining access control procedures, effectively utilizing security technology systems including CCTV and visitor management systems, and closely monitoring the premises to safeguard tenants, visitors, and property. The role demands physical stamina for tasks such as standing, walking, and patrolling the property under various weather conditions. Additionally, this position requires excellent customer service skills to assist tenants and visitors with directions and information, maintaining accurate logs and reports, and responding appropriately to incidents and emergencies.

Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years prior experience as a security officer or related field
  • Valid security license if required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform foot patrols indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to work in inclement weather conditions
  • Availability for second shift Monday-Friday
  • Ability to hold shifts longer than 4 hours
  • Must maintain operational telephone

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • At least 3 years prior satisfactory employment as a security officer or related experience
  • Valid security license if required by state
  • Valid driver’s license as applicable
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Bi-lingual capability considered a plus
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
  • Must maintain a working telephone number for contact
  • Must have at least 2 years of continuous supervisory experience

Job Duties

  • Help supervise operations of an assigned client site on assigned shift
  • Report directly to site supervisor/director and/or Titan management
  • Manage a team of security officers, including scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, and development
  • Ensure high-quality security services to protect people and property
  • Handle escalated security issues and emergency situations
  • Develop staff technical and professional skills through performance management
  • Provide a respectful work environment
  • Assist in coordination and conduct client-specific and site-specific training
  • Reconcile logs and review incident reports
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures and post orders
  • Train and qualify to work assigned post with knowledge of post instructions
  • Maintain access control procedures set by building management
  • Utilize access control, visitor management and CCTV systems
  • Identify tenants and visitors
  • Ensure proper sign-in of visitors and vendors
  • Observe departing personnel to guard against theft
  • Monitor security cameras
  • Respond to incidents including property emergencies
  • Conduct general patrols of the property
  • Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
  • Assist tenants and visitors with directions and business information
  • Record data on property damage, occurrences, and equipment issues
  • Maintain accurate logs on people and property
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Perform other duties as assigned
