Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Six months of supervisory experience or related experience/training preferred
Ability to perform cash handling and register operations
Capability to assist in store opening and closing
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 55 pounds
Capacity to perform frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and occasional climbing using step ladder
Own transportation for occasional driving to fulfill job duties
Availability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels
Commitment to follow company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

Ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability
Ability to perform IBM cash register functions
Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices
Effective interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
Understanding of safety policies and practices
Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance

Job Duties

Unload trucks according to prescribed process
Follow company work processes to receive, open and unpack cartons and totes
Stock merchandise, rotate and face merchandise on shelves, build merchandise displays
Restock returned and recovered merchandise
Order zones and drop shipment categories as assigned
Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance
Assist customers by locating merchandise
Bail cardboard and take out trash, dust and mop store floors, clean restroom and stockroom
Greet customers as they enter the store
Maintain register countertops and bags, implement register countertop plan-o-grams
Operate cash register and flatbed scanner, itemize and total customer purchases, bag merchandise
Collect payment and make change
Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays
Maintain a clean, well-organized store and facilitate a safe working environment
Provide superior customer service leadership
Follow company policies and procedures
Open and/or close the store under specific direction of Area Manager
Authorize and sign for refunds and overrides
Count register and make bank deposits
Maintain strict cashier accountability, key control, and security practices
Monitor cash levels and make appropriate drawer pulls
Monitor cameras for unusual activities
Supply cashiers with change
Complete required paperwork and documentation
