These products include food, snacks, health and beauty aids, cleaning supplies, basic apparel, housewares, and seasonal items, all carefully selected to meet the daily needs of customers. The company prides itself on fostering an environment that celebrates diversity and encourages employees to bring their unique strengths and perspectives to the team. This commitment to inclusion and community service is reflected in their mission of Serving Others, which guides every aspect of their operations.
Working at Dollar General means joining a company that values its employees highly and offers opportunities for growth in various departments, such as store operations, distribution centers, corporate support, and private fleet operations. Employees are encouraged to build rewarding careers where they can directly impact their local communities while growing professionally within a stable and expanding organization. With a strong corporate culture focused on customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and leadership development, Dollar General is an employer of choice for individuals seeking meaningful work in retail.
The Lead Sales Associate plays a vital role in the success of Dollar General's store operations by ensuring a clean, organized, and customer-focused environment. This role requires an individual who can provide excellent customer service, assist with merchandise handling, operate cash registers efficiently, and maintain overall store appearance and safety. Acting as a team leader in the absence of store management, the Lead Sales Associate supports store profitability and customer satisfaction by following company procedures and supporting the store manager and assistant store manager in daily operations.
The responsibilities of a Lead Sales Associate include greeting and assisting customers, operating cash registers, stocking merchandise, ensuring the store is clean and safe, implementing planograms, and opening and closing the store. This position demands strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example. Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced retail environment that requires physical activity such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Dollar General values experience and education in supervisory roles, as well as practical knowledge of cash handling, safety, and store operations. The company supports its employees with clear work processes and expects them to uphold the high standards associated with the brand. This role is suitable for individuals who are customer-focused, able to multitask efficiently, and committed to contributing to a positive store atmosphere. Join Dollar General as a Lead Sales Associate and be part of a dynamic team dedicated to serving customers and growing careers.
