The available position is for a Lead Sales Associate at one of Dollar General's many convenient store locations. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a clean, well-organized store that puts customers first. The Lead Sales Associate is responsible for assisting customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operating the cash register effectively, stocking and recovering merchandise, performing cleaning duties, and supporting the Store Manager in maximizing store profitability and customer satisfaction. This position also involves stepping into the role of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager when they are absent, thereby requiring leadership skills and the ability to manage daily store operations. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Six months of supervisory experience or related experience or training preferred
Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
Ability to perform cash register functions
Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides
Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
Knowledge of cash handling procedures and safety policies
Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money
Ability to frequently lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 55 pounds
Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing
Availability to open and close the store as directed
Willingness to perform duties of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Provide superior customer service leadership
greet and assist customers
Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collect payment from customers and make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers with merchandise as necessary
Follow company work processes to receive, open and unpack boxes, cartons and totes of merchandise
stock merchandise, restock and rotate merchandise on shelves, and build merchandise displays
Clean the store
take out trash
dust and mop store floors
clean restroom and stockroom
and help set up sidewalk displays
Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms
Open and close the store under specific direction of the Store Manager
Perform additional duties typically performed by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, in their absence
