The role of the Lead Sales Associate at Dollar General is a dynamic and customer-focused position aimed at maintaining a clean, well-organized store that prioritizes customer satisfaction and store profitability. This position requires the ability to lead by example and perform the duties of a Sales Associate while also stepping in to fulfill the responsibilities of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- six months of supervisory experience or related experience/training preferred
- ability to perform frequent walking and standing
- ability to perform frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling
- ability to handle merchandise and equipment such as handheld scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, merchandise containers, two-wheel dollies, six-wheel carts, and rolltainers
- ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 55 pounds
- ability to climb up to six feet using a step ladder
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise level
- occasional exposure to outside weather conditions
- ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money and travel to other stores or meetings

Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service leadership
- greet and assist customers
- operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer’s purchase
- collect payment from customers and make change
- bag merchandise
- assist customers with merchandise as necessary
- follow company work processes to receive, open and unpack boxes, cartons and totes of merchandise
- stock merchandise
- restock and rotate merchandise on shelves
- build merchandise displays
- clean the store
- take out trash
- dust and mop store floors
- clean restroom and stockroom
- help set up sidewalk displays
- assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms
- open and close the store under specific direction of the Store Manager
- perform additional duties typically performed by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence
